DEREK EAGER
Tahoma
• Grade: Sophomore.
• Sport: Track.
• Accomplishments: Eager won the javelin with a toss of 160 feet, 5 inches, and the discus at 136-9 in Tahoma’s SPSL North Division dual against Kent-Meridian on April 24. Eager currently has the best javelin performance in the West Central District so far this spring at 178-6.
• Favorite class: Spanish.
• If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve?: I would invite both of my grandmas because I never met them. I would serve hamburgers with everything on them.
• Also noted: Eager has a 3.88 grade-point average and is a three-sport athlete. In addition to track, he also plays football and wrestles for Tahoma.
TYSON ELLIS
Tahoma
• Grade: Senior.
• Sport: Soccer.
• Accomplishments: Ellis set up both goals off free kicks last Friday as the Bears knocked off SPSL North Division leader Kentwood, 2-1, and extended their unbeaten streak to 10 games. Ellis’ first free kick was headed in by James Schmid just 2:27 into the game, and his second one was knocked in by Bryan Cackette just 3:22 into the second half.
• Favorite class: Video productions.
• If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve?: I would invite Dr. Seuss, and would serve green eggs and ham.
• Also noted: Ellis plans to join friend Derek Martinez for college soccer next year at Olympic Community College.
CHRIS SELVAR
Kentwood
• Grade: Senior.
• Sport: Track.
• Accomplishments: Selvar won the 400 in 54.2 seconds, the 800 in 2:02.0, and ran the first leg on Kentwood’s victorious 4-by-400 relay on April 24 in the Conquerors’ SPSL North Division dual meet against Decatur.
• Favorite class: Physics, and CWI.
• If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve?: I would invite Jeremy Warner, and serve bacon cheeseburgers.
• Also noted: Selvar has a 3.3 grade-point average, and will attend Washington State University on an athletic scholarship. In his spare time, he enjoys working on his car.
