KYLIE HUERTA

Kentwood

• Grade: Sophomore.

• Sport: Basketball.

• Accomplishment: Huerta proved to be the catalyst of Kentwood’s 65-48 win over previously second-ranked Auburn Riverside last week. Huerta scored 14 points and delivered frantic baseline-to-baseline defense in the big win.

• If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: Stephen Curry. I would serve whatever his favorite food is.

• Also noted: Huerta plays AAU basketball with Jammin’ which is part of the Carly Stowell Foundation.

KAYLA SHIRA

Kentlake

• Grade: Senior.

• Sport: Gymnastics.

• Accomplishment: Shira served up one of the most impressive performances of the winter in helping Kentlake register 170.9 points in a nonleague win over Auburn Mountainview, Auburn Riverside and Olympia. Shira won the all-around (37.0), finished first on the beam (9.45) and vault (9.0) while taking second on bars (9.4).

• If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I’d invite Betty Crocker so she could cook dinner.

KONNER KNUDTSEN

Tahoma

• Grade: Junior.

• Sport: Wrestling.

• Accomplishment: Knudtsen, who competes at 215 pounds, delivered one of the most dominant performances of the weekend, pinning all four of his opponents at the Spud Walley Invitational at Sedro-Woolley High. Knudtsen finished off the golden performance with a pin of Auburn’s Chris Young.

• If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: (Tahoma football coach) Tony Davis and I would have my mom make chicken Parmesan.

SIERRA HAVERFIELD

Tahoma

• Grade: Junior.

• Sport: Basketball.

• Accomplishment: Haverfield helped the Bears get into the win column in the SPSL North, registering a team-high 14 points to lead Tahoma past Kentridge 58-53 last week.

• Favorite class: American Sign Language.

• Most recent book read/author: “A bad boy can be good for a girl” by Tanya Lee Stone.
