RACHAEL REESE

Tahoma

• Grade: Sophomore.

• Sport: Swimming.

• Accomplishment: Reese qualified for Class 4A state in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.51, and also won the 200 individual medley as the Bears gave Jefferson a run for it in the SPSL North Division dual-meet opener on Sept. 11 before dropping a 95-90 decision.

• Favorite class: French.

• If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: Michelle Hayden. We would eat McDonald’s.

• Also noted: Reese has been a part of the King Aquatics Club for more than three years.

LEWI LARSON

Kentlake

• Grade: Senior.

• Sport: Football.

• Accomplishment: Lewi Larson completed 15 of 28 passes for 180 yards and two touchdowns in a 20-14 overtime win over Kent-Meridian.

• Favorite class: Sports medicine.

• If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: Indianapolis quarterback Peyton Manning and I would serve Kami Teriyaki.

• Also noted: Larson hopes to continue playing football in college.

HEYDEN JOHNSON

Tahoma

• Grade: Senior.

• Sport: Football.

• Accomplishment: Johnson completed 9 of 16 passes for 178 yards and a touchdown in Tahoma’s 21-17 win over Auburn Riverside on Sept. 12. Johnson saved his best for last as well, completing his final six passes, culminating in a 20-yard touchdown strike to Chris Marangon with 33 seconds left on the clock to seal the win.

• Favorite class: Advanced composition.

• If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite (former NFL quarterback) John Elway and I would serve flat-iron steak.

• Also noted: Johnson is treasurer of the Interact Club and is part of leadership class.

MANDE MCKINNEY

Tahoma

• Grade: Sophomore.

• Sport: Soccer.

• Accomplishment: McKinney helped the Bears earn their first North Division win, scoring the first two goals in a 4-0 victory over Kentridge on Sept. 11.

• Favorite class: Outdoor academy.

• If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I’d invite (soccer player) Ronaldinho, (actor) James Marsden and Jesus Christ. I’d serve chicken and Caesar salad.

• Also noted: McKinney is Tahoma’s ASB treasurer, has a 4.0 GPA and plays for the Marauders soccer team. She wants to attend the University of Washington after high school and study nursing.

LAURA MOORE

Kentwood

• Grade: Freshman.

• Sport: Soccer.

• Accomplishment: Moore collected a goal and an assist, leading the Conquerors past Federal Way, 4-1, in their league opener on Sept. 9.

• Favorite class: Science.

• If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: (Soccer player) Mia Hamm. I would serve Thai food since it’s my favorite.

• Also noted: Along with the Kentwood team, Moore also plays for the Crossfire 93.
