Lake Meridian in Kent Triathlon set for Aug. 28, will cause road closures on Kent Kangley Road near Covington

A trio of triathlon races at Lake Meridian will offer variety to competitors with a variety of fitness levels and interests.

A trio of triathlon races at Lake Meridian will offer variety to competitors with a variety of fitness levels and interests.

The Lake Meridian Tri, set for Aug. 28, will also impact traffic on Kent Kangley Road at 152nd Street from 7-11 a.m. and at the Soos Creek Trail Crossing from 7:30-11:30 a.m.

Drivers are encouraged to use different routes the morning of the event.

Meanwhile, for the competitors, every finisher will receive a medal and a T-shirt. There will be a raffle for a wet suit, bike helmet and sunglasses. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Hope Heart Institute and its fight against heart disease.

A full breakfast will be served to every participant and volunteer and available to spectators and the public for $4 a plate. Proceeds will benefit the St. Stephen the Martyr Mission Team.
