Alexander Lee was drafted in the 36th round of the 2014 MLB draft

Kentwood High School graduate Alexander Lee has signed a contract with the Baltimore Orioles. Lee, 23, who was drafted in the 36th round of the 2014 MLB draft, is a 6-foot-3, 205 pound first baseman who played for Radford University. He was the 1,081st overall pick. The Orioles signed Lee on June 18.

Lee was a second-team All-Big South selection in his senior season in 2014. He led the Highlanders with a .357 batting average and topped the Big South with a .465 on-base percentage and 38 walks.  Lee earned one of the Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week honors after batting .800 over a five-game stretch in late April.

Lee played two years at Radford after transferring from Skagit Valley College.
