Kentlake, Kentridge athletes compete at Bellevue Invitational | Track and field

The Kentlake boys and girls and Kentirdge girls track and field team competed at the Bellevue Invitational on Saturday April 21 at Bellevue High. Kentlake boys placed 12th out of 26 teams. Kentridge and Kentlake girls placed 13th and 17th respectively out of 29 teams.

Falcons boys sophomore Mark Baydyuk took fifth in the 300 hurdles with a time of 42.13 seconds. The boys 400 relay team, comprised of Caleb Mathena, Matt Dispensa, Baydyuk and Trevor Davidson took ninth with a combined time of 45.36. In field events, junior Jake Bailey placed second in the shot put and sixth in the discus, with a throw of 46 feet, four inches and 127 feet, one inch respectively. Sophomore Travis Rogers took ninth in the discus with a throw of 118 feet, 10 inches. Sophomore Malik Arrington took seventh in the triple jump with a total leap of 39 feet, 7.25 inches.

Falcon girls junior Tori Lanza placed sixth in the 100 hurdles and fifth in the 300 hurdles, with times of 17.25 and 48.40 respectively. Junior Carrie Radowick placed third in the discus with a throw of 97 feet, two inches, while fellow junior Megan Lande placed fifth with a throw of 89 feet, one inch.

Chargers girls senior Molly Shiroshi placed ninth in the mile with a time of 5:24.57. Sophomore Lexi Klinkenberg took third in the 100 hurdles and second in the 300 hurdles, crossing the finish line at 16.07 and 46.37 respectively. Fellow sophomore Joyce Lin placed ninth in the 100 hurdles at 17.50. Abby Klinkenberg placed seventh in the 300 hurdles with a time of 49.27. Freshman Kiki Gilbert placed sixth in the shot put after throwing it 32 feet, 11 inches.

Junior Raziel Tolentino took seventh in discus after throwing it 87 feet, two inches. Senior Aurora Varela placed sixth in the high jump after making a vertical leap of four feet, 10 inches. She also took 10th in the triple jump after jumping a total distance of 31 feet, 10 inches.
