Kentlake gymnast Ashley Pernell earned first place honors at the 4A SPSL sub-district meet on Feb. 8. Pernell earned a total score of 37.025 in her four events, topping Kate Jacobson, from Puyallup who finished second with a 36.625.

Kentwood senior Zoe Krembule earned fifth-place with a 35.15 total.

As a team, Kentlake finished third, three points out of second.

“Since the top two teams from districts make it to state we will be working hard this week to perfect all our routines to try to make it as a team to state,” said Kentlake coach Lindsey Duerre.
