Corbin named to All-State team

Tahoma High School junior Mia Corbin was named to the Washington State Soccer Coaches Association All-State 2014 second team

Tahoma High School junior Mia Corbin was named to the Washington State Soccer Coaches Association All-State 2014 second team.

Corbin played midfield for the Bears, scoring 10 goals and dishing 11 assists. She led the squad to the first round of the state tournament. The Bears finished the regular season 8-2-3 in league play, 11-5-3 overall.

Tahoma head coach Jason Johnson called Corbin a “wonderful player” and “an even better person.”

“We are all very happy and proud of Mia,” Johnson wrote in an email. “She is and has been one of the best players in the area and is well deserving of this award.”

Team members are voted on by WSSCA members. Kelsey Turnbow, a forward, was named the 4A MVP. The association named her coach, Andres Monrrow, coach of the year.
