YWCA to offer Spanish-language literacy class to Covington, Maple Valley residents starting March 15

The YWCA will be offering a Spanish-language financial literacy classes March 15- May 17.

The YWCA will be offering Spanish-language financial literacy classes for South King County residents starting March 15- May 17.

Esperanza y Poder para tus Finanzas Personales (Hope and Power For Your Personal Finances) will be free financial literacy class for Spanish-speaking victims/survivors of domestic violence in a confidential location in South King County.

Classes will be every Thursday afternoon from 12-3 p.m.

Childcare will be provided on site and transportation assistance is available.

During the ten weeks, the following subjects will be covered.

  • Safety and Finances
  • Financial Abuse
  • Setting and Meeting Financial Goals
  • Basic Banking / Checking Accounts
  • Taking a Personal Financial Inventory
  • Budgeting Your Money
  • How to Save on a Limited Income
  • How to Get and Read your Credit Report
  • Improving Your Credit
  • Federal Income Taxes/EITC
  • Financial Aid for School
  • Getting a Job
  • Small Business Assistance
  • Finding a Place to Live
  • Protecting yourself with Insurance
  • And much, much more….
