WSP seeks information regarding drive by shooting in Covington

On June 19 it was reported a vehicle was shot at while exiting SR 18.

The Washington State Patrol is asking for the public’s help regarding an incident that occurred June 19 in Covington.

According to a media release June 29, it was reported that just before 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 19 WSP communications received a 911 call from a driver stating they had been shot at while on the off ramp from eastbound state Route 18 to South 272nd Street/SR 516.

When troopers arrived on scene they made contact with the victim and confirmed the vehicle had been hit by a bullet.

The victim told troopers the suspect vehicle was a black Toyota Highlander most likely a 2005 to 2010 model with tinted windows.

The victim also indicated the vehicle had after market daytime running lights with a blue tint, the release stated. The Toyota and Highlander lettering on the rear attach were reported to be black.

It was reported, the release added, the only occupant of the vehicle was a male driver. The victim was unable to get a license plate number.

Patrol detectives are seeking anyone with information to help identify the vehicle or the driver of the suspect vehicle.
