MOTORCYCLE CRASH: Mountain View Fire and Rescue responded to a motorcycle accident at Pacific Raceways at about 11 a.m.
The patient was a woman that crashed near turn one. It is unknown what happened, but it is estimated she was traveling approximately 110 mph at the time of the crash.
Race rescue were first on scene and found the woman laying prone in the middle of the track, she was unconscious and unresponsive, but did have a pulse and was breathing. Mountain View Fire and Rescue and Medic One provided aid until Airlift Northwest arrived on scene, and took her to the nearest trauma center for further care.
HEAD-ON COLLISION: At about 6 p.m. Mountain View Fire and Rescue emergency personnel were dispatched to a head on collision on state Route 164 and 368th Way Southeast. The two cars involved were a blue PT Cruiser and a Red Mustang.
The cars were significantly damaged and SR 164 was closed for a period of time. The driver of the PT Cruiser had injuries that required the patient to be transported to the hospital by private ambulance.
The driver of the red Mustang was trapped and it took several minutes to extricate him from the car. This person had serious injuries and the medics transported him to a local hospital because airlift had a 30 minute flight time to arrive on scene. Valley Regional Fire Authority provided mutual aid and helped care for the patient of the PT Cruiser. The state patrol closed the road and helped on scene.
