Who wants to be a Covington Planning Commission member?

Covington officials are seeking applicants for an opening on the city’s Planning Commission.

Applications, which will be accepted through Feb. 18, are available at City Hall and www.ci.covington.wa.us. The City Council plans interview candidates and make an appointment at its Feb. 24 meeting.

The commission reviews the city’s land-use regulations and conducts related public hearings. Its seven members meet twice a month at City Hall.

Officials said commission members should have an interest in environmental affairs, planning, land-use, and residential and commercial development. Additional is available from the city clerk at (253) 638-1110 (extension 2234).

The next meeting of the commission is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Jan. 15. A public hearing on proposed changes to procedures involving land-use permits and notices is planned.
