The Lake Wilderness Arboretum appoints local business owner Rebecca Rohman as Event Coordinator, responsible for bringing together local residents and volunteers to make a bigger impact in the community.

“I’m getting more involved with the Arboretum because I think it’s important to have a space like it in the community for people to learn from, and enjoy,” Rohman said. “I also love gardening; the Hummingbird garden is my all-time favorite.”

Currently, Rohman is representing the Arboretum on Maple Valley’s Make a Difference Day committee, along with Garden Manager Susan Goodell, and is working with Executive Director Amy Hardebeck to recruit volunteers for the October 26 event.

“As we expand our events to engage more of Maple Valley, we are excited about having Rebecca help to coordinate our fundraisers and garden celebrations,” Hardebeck said. “She is already very active here, serving on the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce.”

A resident of Maple Valley for more than 20 years, Rohman owns NW Payroll Plus, which provides accounting and payroll services for small businesses, and Just for Them Gift Baskets, exceptional custom-made gift baskets and crates.
