The Lake Wilderness Arboretum Foundation is getting ready to launch its popular Student Art Contest for 2014.
Beginning in January, local children can express their artistic talents and help build awareness about Maple Valley’s Lake Wilderness Arboretum. Contestants are asked to interpret the 2014 contest theme, “My Favorite Part of the Arboretum,” by creating original artwork and entering it into the contest.
Judges will choose the winners who compete for prizes, and the winning artwork is featured on a special poster for the Arboretum, which is distributed throughout the year.
The Foundation will provide more information about the 2014 “My Favorite Part of the Arboretum” student art contest in the next couple of weeks. Visit the new website at www.LakeWildernessArboretum.org for complete contest guidelines, prize information, and entry forms in early January.
In 2013, over 80 beautiful works of art were submitted to the Student Art Contest, with the theme of “It’s Your Arboretum.” In addition to being featured on the Arboretum poster, winners received $50 in prizes. The 2013 winners are Tamsyn Lewis, Hannah Levine and Caitlin Hughes.
