Scott McCall, is the current rotation’s featured solo artist at the Maple Valley Creative Arts Center.

McCall is an academic realist painter. Born in New Mexico and now residing in Seattle, McCall began to show passion for art as a very young man.  Formally studying painting, sculpture, and dabbling in the lowbrow art scene Scott received a BFA in visual communications with double majors in fine art and graphic design from the Northwest College of Art in Poulsbo. A graphic design project led him to the books “Classical Drawing Atelier” and “Classical Painting Atelier” by Juliette Aristides, which led him into a figure drawing workshop given by Aristides, a cast drawing class with Atelier grad Susan Bari Price, and acceptance into the Aristides Classical Atelier located at Gage Academy of Art in Seattle.

McCall’s inspiring paintings are available for viewing by appointment by emailing mvcac@comcast.net or calling Wendee 206-271-0826.

The next rotation begins April 25 and will feature solo artist John Madden.

Upcoming Fundraiser: Ten-Twenty-Forty Small Works Show

Now’s your chance to purchase original artwork from local artists. Each participating artist has invited ten guests and now we are opening attendance up to the public. These gallant artists are busily creating twenty pieces of 8″ x 8″ artwork for display and you have the chance of owning as many pieces that your heart desires for a flat fee of $40 each!

The show will be held at the Creative Arts Center at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 31 and will highlight the exceptional talent of our participating artists. Dressed in its finest, you will also have the chance to experience all that our local art hub has to offer. Register by heading over to www.MapleValleyArts.com and find out how to hold your space at this free event. MVCAC will close registration once the venue is filled.

The unique format of the fundraiser relies on a “signal” to set forth the action – this is when art patrons ‘grab and go’ from a selection of over 200 pieces of art! Don’t miss the fun at the first annual Ten-Twenty-Forty Small Works Show.

In addition, there will be raffle ticket sales at Ten-Twenty-Forty for a full size painting, “Arching Cedars” donated by Maple Valley’s own Kathleen Frugé-Brown, to view the painting go to www.maplevalleyarts.com.
