- FIRE: 24900 block of 234th Place Southeast. Fire fighters were dispatched to a residential structure roof fire. Upon arrival firefighter’s saw smoke from the roof. They used climbs to climb the house and found an electrical extension cord for holiday lighting had melted and was the cause of the smoke. No one was at home at the time; two 6-year-old neighbor boys heard popping sounds and saw the smoke coming from the roof and reported the incident. There was no damage to the house. The two boys were awarded Life Safety Certificates from Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety.
