Drivers are urged to take five minutes and plan their routes before traveling this weekend to avoid major delays during weekend-long closures on Interstate 405 and State Route 167.
Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, crews will close all northbound lanes of I-405 through downtown Bellevue while they tear up and replace aging concrete panels. Crews will also close the ramp that takes drivers from SR 167 to northbound I-405 at 10 p.m. for major drainage repair.
All lanes and ramps will reopen in time for the morning commute, Monday, Aug. 12.
The Washington State Department of Transportation has asked drivers to plan ahead and help reduce congestion by taking transit, carpooling, using alternate routes or delaying trips.
The media is invited to learn more about construction progress and regional traffic impacts at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, in Bellevue.
