Police blotter for Covington and Maple Valley for March 16-22

COVINGTON

• March 21

ASSAULT: 18000 block of Southeast 265th Place. A man and his stepson got involved in a “mutual fistfight” at their home.

ATTEMPTED FRAUD: 18000 block of Southeast 280th Place. A man discovered someone had obtained his Nordstrom Visa card when the department store called to verify an attempted purchase from its online store of $253.89.

• March 18

TOOL TIME: 17200 block of Southeast 267th Place. A man stole tools from his parents’ tool shed then pawned them.

ASSAULT: 23600 block of Witte Road Southeast. The suspect, who was known to the victim, punched the victim and slammed the victim’s head to the ground at 7-11.

THEFT: 27100 block of 164th Avenue Southeast. Someone broke into a car in the Covington library parking lot and stole a large laptop bag.

WHILE YOU WORKED OUT: 27200 block of 172nd Avenue Southeast. While the victim was working out at LA Fitness someone stole their credit cards then proceeded to use them to make unauthorized purchases.

• March 17

CAR PROWL: 24100 block of 184th Avenue Southeast. Someone entered a pair of unlocked cars and made off with a GPS unit, portable DVD player and an iPod MP3 player. Both cars were parked in front of the victim’s home.

BURGLARY: 16700 block of Southeast 272nd Street. Someone smashed the window at House of Pho and stole items from the business.

EXTORTION: 26800 block of 167th Place Southeast. After stealing personal documents from the victim, the suspect showed up at the victim’s home, demanding money in return for the documents.

• March 16

IN BROAD DAYLIGHT: 27500 block of Covington Way. Someone entered an unlocked vehicle in the Costco parking lot and stole the stereo.

March 13

POT AND RUN: 24000 block of Southeast 279th Street. A man attempted to run from police when was caught with a pipe and marijuana on him. About 50 grams of pot was found in his vehicle.

MAPLE VALLEY

• March 21

DON’T PARK THERE: 21800 block of Southeast Wax Road. A 1986 Dodge was parked illegally and blocking the view of the intersection which resulted in an accident.

• March 19

OOH, THAT SMELL: 24200 block of Witte Road Southeast. A driver was stopped for speeding. When the officer approached the vehicle the odor of marijuana emanated from it. The car was impounded.

CAUGHT BEERHANDED: 17000 block of Southeast 272nd Street. A group of juveniles were caught trying to steal beer from the Safeway in Four Corners. They were trespassed from the store.

• March 16

FORGOTTEN: 27000 block of Maple Valley Highway. A woman left her purse in a shopping cart at Goodwill. When she returned to Goodwill in search of her purse, it was gone.
