The Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra offers summer music camp Aug. 8-12

The Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra will offer its popular summer music camp Aug. 8-12. This year’s camp theme will be “The Good, The Band, The Ugly” and will feature movie music of favorite heroes, villains and monsters.

The Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra will offer its popular summer music camp Aug. 8-12.

This year’s camp theme will be “The Good, The Band, The Ugly” and will feature movie music of favorite heroes, villains and monsters.

The camp is open to students with at least one school year of playing experience. There will be a special program for students with less than two years of playing experience running simultaneously during the camp. Students with two years or greater playing experience will play movie music, participate in sectionals and ensembles with professional coaches.

This year’s camp venue will be Maple Valley Presbyterian Church, 22659 Sweeny Road S.E.

The camp will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day with a 7 p.m. concert on Friday, Aug. 12. The concert is open to the public and a $5 suggested donation will be welcomed at the door.

The fee is $25 for the five day camp. An optional lunch is offered at an additional $5 per day.
