The Cellular Connection in Maple Valley to hold food drive

Wireless retailer’s “Stop the Hunger” program hosts fund drives for 300 local food banks to help combat food insecurity

The Cellular Connection in Maple Valley will be among the 300 stores that will be be donating and volunteering at local food banks through its “Stop the Hunger” initiative.

The retail store will be participating in the fundraiser through Friday, Dec. 12. Stores across the U.S. are encouraging local families to bring in canned and boxed food, which will be delivered to the community’s food bank. The Maple Valley store, located at 23916B SE Kent Kangley Road, will donate funds and employees will volunteer at local food banks until the end of December.

“’Stop the Hunger’ is the newest initiative under TCC’s ‘Culture of Good’ movement, which empowers our employees to make a positive, charitable impact in their communities,” said Scott Moorehead, president and CEO of TCC, in a press release. “It’s how our company gives back to every community where we do business. We’re honored to have the ability to help families and children in need this holiday season by donating to and volunteering at local food banks throughout the U.S.”

TCC’s summer “Culture of Good” efforts led to donations of 300 college scholarships to children and 100,000 backpacks to deserving students, according to the release.
