Teamsters Local 174 truck driversTeamsters Local 174 truck drivers will return to work Friday, April 23, ending a two day labor strike with Waste Management affecting King County, including Maple Valley and Snohomish County.
According to a press release from the Texas-based Waste Management, the drivers will return and negotiations will resume 10 a.m. Monday with a federal mediator.
The drivers went on strike Wednesday, April 21.
Talks had broken down after Waste Management presented a final offer April 1.
According to the Waste Management Web site, residential customer who were missed can set out twice the regular amount of garbage and yard waste for the next pick up and recyclables will be picked up on the next collection day.
Commercial customers will have their garbage and recyclable picked up as soon as possible.
