Tahoma School Board seeks volunters for committee

The Tahoma School Board is seeking volunteers to serve on an ad hoc committee to examine the school district’s options for dealing with rising enrollment and crowded schools.

The Tahoma School Board is seeking volunteers to serve on an ad hoc committee to examine the school district’s options for dealing with rising enrollment and crowded schools.

The committee would begin meeting in early June and continue having regular meetings through the summer months and into fall.

The committee would create a report and recommendations to the school board by October.

Among the topics that the committee would be directed to research are alternative school schedules such as year-round multi-track and double-shift schedules, future construction financed by bonds or levies, and moving grade levels to different schools.
