The stolen bronze plaques at Tahoma National Cemetery have not been forgotten in the rush of holiday shopping.

Jim Trimbo, director of the cemetery, stated in an e-mail today, Dec. 23, “The Tahoma National Cemetery Support Group is accepting donations to replace the stolen plaques.”

The group is hoping to raise about $20,000 to replace the 11 stolen and three damaged plaques.

Cemetery workers discovered the theft the morning of Nov. 26. The bronze plaques, which commemorated the men and woman who served the country in the military, were taken from the granite stands where each was placed along Francis W. Agnes Memorial walkway.

Trimbo said the case is still unsolved, but, there have been a couple leads recently
