The Valley Girls and Guys Susan G. Komen 3-Day For The Cure first meeting of the year is 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28 at Windermere Real Estate, 22017 SE Wax Road, Maple Valley.

The meeting will be the official kick-off.

The agenda for the evening will be:

• meet, greet and introduce new and past walkers;

• question and answer opportunity for new walkers;

• sign up new walkers;

• form different teams for the various fundraisers and activities we do throughout the year;

• begin planning for our largest fundraiser of the year, which is scheduled for Friday, March 19, at the Green River Community Center.

Last year the team had 59 walkers and raised more than $140,000 for the cure.

The Valley Girls and Guys are looking for dedicated and motivated people. This team raises funds together, which is usually the biggest obstacle for anyone who wants to participate.
