Registration for summer classes offered though Maple Valley Parks and Recreation now open.

Group/Private Guitar Lessons

Choose between a fun small group (5) setting or private 30 minutes lessons, where you will learn all the basic chords, major & minor scales and alternate picking. You’ll end the course knowing how to play a handful of contemporary songs and the ability to learn more! (ages 11-99)

Jr Lifeguard Program

The program will teach potential future lifeguards about safe lake and aquatic recreational opportunities and is designed to improve their understanding and respect for the environment, for themselves, and their peers. The goal is building enthusiasm and lake knowledge promoting future interest in paid lifeguard positions at Lake Wilderness Park once they turn 16 years old. (ages 12-15)

Youth Tennis Lessons

The Haeger Orthodontics sponsored summer tennis lessons are for players of all skill levels and ages (7+). Lessons are held at the Lake Wilderness Park courts. Sessions are limited to 12 players, which helps for a more personal instruction and faster improvement. (ages 7- adult)

I9 Sports Camps

Aug 1-5 i9 Sports will ignite your child’s (girls and boys) interest in multiple sport options all at one location with only 1 drop-off and pick-up location for families! The perfect solution for busy parents and any size family. Each camp will have multiple sport offerings with half-day and full day options. i9 Sports tee and sportsmanship value awards! (ages 3-11)

Youth Art and Science Classes Build things, float things, make things go, lift things and light them up, too! Using everyday materials like straws, balloons, paperclips and tape, you’ll tackle a new engineering challenge each week. Will you build the tallest tower? Will your bridge hold the load? Will your light bulb light up? Get some science and physics know-how to help you in your quest, and then test your design and try to make it even better! (ages 5-13)

Summer Yoga for Kids This class provides an opportunity for children to further their mental and physical capacity through breathing exercises, yoga postures, and meditation. The mind-body benefits of this kids’ yoga class will help them concentrate, regulate their emotions and cooperate with others, all while being physically active. (ages 8-13)

Create Your Own Art Journal – Time for Mom Every woman needs time to unwind, reflect and re-create herself. When was the last time you scheduled time for yourself? As Pablo Picaso said “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.”
