Drivers who use the intersection of 51st Avenue South and the eastbound State Route 518 off-ramp will notice some changes next week.

Drivers who use the intersection of 51st Avenue South and the eastbound State Route 518 off-ramp will notice some changes next week.

The Washington State Department of Transportation will be removing two stop signs from both directions of 51st Avenue South, which will improve traffic flow without sacrificing safety. Additional intersection adjustments include moving guardrail to give exiting eastbound SR 518 drivers a better sightline in order to safely make a left turn from the off-ramp.

Work on the intersection will have minimal impact to traffic. WSDOT maintenance crews will flag drivers through the intersection from 6 to 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 10.

Additional project information can be found on the WSDOT blog.
