Stained glass art class offered at Black Diamond Community Center

The Black Diamond Community Center will be hosting a Beginning Stained Glass Art class this winter. The class is free, sponsored by the organization, Seniors Making Art.

The Black Diamond Community Center will be hosting a beginning stained glass art class this winter. The class is free, sponsored by the organization, Seniors Making Art.

Local seniors Oliver Orr and Tom Gates will be the instructors. The class be 10 a.m. to noon for seven weeks each Wednesday morning starting Jan. 13 and ending Feb. 24.

This class is designed to teach the basic skills to complete several stained glass objects. You will learn to cut and grind glass, foil and solder. All materials and tools will be provided in the class.

Participants need to be able to independently use glass cutters,

grinders and soldering equipment with basic instruction. Absolutely no artistic experience is necessary. Just plan to come and have fun.

Participants must be new to the program and call the Black Diamond Community Center at 360-886-1011 by Monday, January 11 to sign up.
