SR 18 lane and ramp closures at SR 167 through Monday morning, July 27

Drivers relying on State Route 18 between Federal Way and Auburn should plan for major delays and alternate routes.

Drivers relying on State Route 18 between Federal Way and Auburn should plan for major delays and alternate routes to Monday morning, July 27. Crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will close all lanes of westbound SR 18 and one lane eastbound at State Route 167 as part of the SR 167 8th to 277th Southbound HOT Lane project. Several SR 18 and SR 167 ramps will also be closed.

Closure details

  • There will be the following SR 18 lane and ramp closures from 10 p.m. Friday, July 24, to 5 a.m. Monday, July 27:

o   All westbound lanes for SR 18 at SR 167.

o   One lane of eastbound SR 18 at SR 167.

o   The C Street Southwest on-ramp to westbound SR 18.

o   The southbound SR 167 on-ramp to eastbound SR 18.

o   The westbound SR 18 off-ramp to southbound SR 167.

o   The westbound SR 18 off-ramp to West Valley Highway.

o   The West Valley Highway on-ramp to eastbound SR 18 and northbound SR 167.

 

Alternate routes

  • Drivers heading to Eastern Washington should take northbound Interstate 5 to northbound Interstate 405 and continue eastward on eastbound Interstate 90.
  • Eastbound SR 18 drivers have two options:

o   Detour to southbound West Valley Highway, eastbound 15th Street Southwest and northbound C Street Southwest before reaching eastbound SR 18 again.

o   Continue on eastbound collector-distributer lane.

  • Westbound SR 18 traffic will be detoured to northbound SR 167, off to westbound 15th Street Northwest, on to southbound SR 167 before reaching westbound SR 18 again.
