Son of Covington family graduates from Air Force basic military training

Zachary Jarrell, a 2011 Kentlake graduate, graduated from Air Force basic military training on Sept. 9 at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio Texas.

Zachary Jarrell, a 2011 Kentlake graduate, graduated from Air Force basic military training on Sept. 9 at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio Texas.

Jarrell’s graduation was attended by his mother and father, Lisa and Bill Jarrell of Covington, sister Cassidy and girlfriend Charlene Murphy.

Basic Military training is an eight and a half weeks long course that trains future airmen on war-fighting and deployment skills, weapons training, first aid/buddy care, chemical/biological defense and strict physical standards.

Zachary is now at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Miss. training for his specific job in cyber systems operations which is a 66 day course. He follows his father into the Air Force and his sister, Alicia Jarrell, who graduated from Kentlake in 2007.
