Small Business Association regional administrator to speak at Maple Valley’s November Economic Development Committee meeting

Goings will provide an overview of federally supported programs designed to assist small business owners.

Calvin Goings, Regional Administrator for the U.S. Small Business Administration, will speak at Maple Valley’s economic development committee meeting.

Goings will provide an overview of federally supported programs designed to assist small business owners.

Prior to joining the Obama Administration, Goings served in executive positions with the Washington Credit Union League, working as senior advisor to the president and as the executive director of the league’s foundation. Before his work in the private sector, Goings served in elected office for nearly two decades in local government and as a Washington State Senator.

Goings has been involved over the years with numerous community and volunteer organizations, including the local Chamber of Commerce, Urban League, Boys and Girls Club, Special Olympics, and the American Heart Association.

The Maple Valley economic development committee meets quarterly at the Lake Wilderness Lodge, 22500 SE 248th Street, from 7:30 to 9 a.m.
