SLIDE SHOW: Music, art, food and fun for first day of Maple Valley Days

The first day of Maple Valley Days brought out a large crowd of people to Lake Wilderness Park.

Inside the lodge the 11th annual Maple Valley Days Arts Festival was on display with an impressive array of works.

Just outside the lodge in the grass, the local band, if Bears were Bees, performed for a appreciative group of teens. The band, with TJ Grant singing, Mat Bainton on acoustic bass and Jeff Mead on drums, showed talent and raw energy.

The fesitval offered something for everyone with booths, face painting, food, carnival rides and ponies.

Check back Saturday for more pictures from the event.
