The seventh annual CAToberfest will be held Oct. 11 in Maple Valley.
The family-friendly fundraiser benefit South County Cats’ spay/neuter programs and will be held at the Maple Valley Community Center, 22010 SE 248th St., from 1-4 p.m. Admission is free, though organizers say a donation of canned cat food would be appreciated.
Event highlights include a guest appearance from internet supercats Oskar & Klaus. The feline adventure duo will have copies of their new illustrated book on hand, “Oskar & Klaus: The Search for Bigfoot.” There will also be raffles, rafreshments, a marketplace of good and a tour of Pasado’s Safe Haven’s Spay Station, which is described as a state-of-the-art mobile spay/neuter unit.
Speakers include:
• Dr. Gene Mueller, Director of King County Regional Animal Services — “The Impact of Spay and Neuter on the Shelter Population.”
• Scott Fraser, with the Humane Society for Seattle/King County – “Pet Guardian Program – Planning for your Pet’s Future.”
• “Ask the Vet” with Dr. Reed.
