Maple Valley Merchants Plus is recruiting for two senior coed softball teams, one of skilled players and the other recreational. Entry fee is around $55.

Gene Tuffs, a coach who started the Maple Valley team in 2004, is accepting correspondence via email from those would like to practice. Emailgenetuffs2012@gmail.com or call 253-632-4591. He is also accepting inquiries to the 12 other towns who need players: Des Moines, Federal Way, Kent, Maple Valley, Mercer Island, Renton, Seattle, Tukwila, Bellevue, Issaquah, and Sumner.

“We need a lot of additional players for the teams at both levels of skill,” said Tuffs,

Maple Valley practice times are scheduled, dependent upon weather conditions, for Tuesdays and Thursdays,10:00 am to noon beginning Tuesday, Feb.21 through April. Practice is at Ravensdale field, a field with surface that is not negatively affected by weather conditions.

Senior softball games are held at several town fields on Tuesdays and Thursdays in May, June and July with a tournament in the first week of August.
