Maple Valley Parks and Recreation is offering a three hour workshop just for women to learn how to easily protect themselves and their loved ones. This class is taught by black belt and professional instructor John Robinson. Open to women of all ages.

The program from Pacific Martial Arts Academy will show how to developing your mental, physical, and emotional responses to threat and aggression. Studies show that women who are willing to resist an attacker are twice as likely to escape injury as those who don’t. This workshop will focus on understanding and prevention, avoidance and de-escalation, and practical physical resistance.

Class is limited to 10 participants and the fee is $39 per person. This workshop was offered last spring and proved popular and will be offered only one time this winter from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26 at Lake Wilderness Lodge.
