Rock Creek Elementary School turns 20 this year and the school’s Parent Teacher Association is inviting the community to celebrate the occasion with a talent show and birthday party at 7 p.m. on June 15.

Rock Creek opened in 1992 when the population of Maple Valley began to grow rapidly.

Originally the school was home to students in kindergarten through sixth grade but as the city grew the sixth grade students were moved to the middle schools.

Today 945 students in kindergarten through fifth attend Rock Creek.

The PTSA is planning to mark this milestone with a revue style talent show, a new time capsule and a photographic display from the past 20 years.

Close to 2,000 students  have attended Rock Creek during the past two decades.
