Drivers should plan for an hour of added travel time on Interstate 90 east of Snoqualmie Pass next week for nightly rock blasting closures.

The Washington State Department of Transportation and contractor crews will close I-90 at7 p.m. for about an hour each night Monday, Sept. 8 through Thursday, Sept. 11. During rock blasting closures, eastbound drivers will be stopped at Gold Creek (milepost 56) and westbound drivers will be stopped at Price Creek (milepost 61).

Intermittent rolling slowdowns could cause 20 minute delays Monday through Friday during the day from Gold Creek (milepost 56) to Price Creek (milepost 61). Drivers will also experience minor delays due to a single lane closure westbound from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m. Monday through Friday from milepost 65 to milepost 67. Drivers may experience minor delays near Ellensburg Wednesday due to a single lane closure eastbound from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
