Puyallup Fair Hosts Do the Puyallup Walk to Beat Breast Cancer on Sept. 22

Community members can help raise funds to benefit Seattle Cancer Care Alliance by participating in the first ever Do the Puyallup Walk to Beat Breast Cancer at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Puyallup Fair and Events Center.

Community members can help raise funds to benefit Seattle Cancer Care Alliance by participating in the first ever Do the Puyallup Walk to Beat Breast Cancer at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Puyallup Fair and Events Center.

Fair gate admission is included in registration, which is available at www.DoThePuyallupWalk.org.

Money raised from this 5K walk (3.1 miles) helps raise funds for breast cancer research, education, prevention, treatment and patient care.

The route starts in the Puyallup Fair, then exits to make a loop around Sparks Stadium, returning to the Fair to tour all the Fair has to offer.

Participants are then invited to stay and enjoy their day at the Fair.Advance registration until Sept. 20 is only $35 for adults and $18 for children (6-18 years), and includes a walk t-shirt. Kids five and under are free to walk.

Registration is also accepted the day of the walk at $40 for adults, and $23 for children. Teams are also encouraged to walk and raise funds for breast cancer awareness. Check-in to walk is at the Blue Gate on Meridian St. and 10th Ave. SW. at 7 a.m.

The Do the Puyallup Walk to Beat Breast Cancer celebrates breast cancer survivors and promotes awareness.

A “Why We Walk Wall” will be featured to recognized those we love affected by breast cancer.

Participants can bring photos and messages to post on the day of the event, or mail then in advance, postmarked by Sept. 14 to: Do the Puyallup Walk, c/o Puyallup Fair, 110 – 9th Avenue SW, Puyallup, WA 98371.
