The first call to 911 came in at 9:23 p.m. when a neighbor saw flames shooting above the pole style structure and igniting nearby fir trees. Firefighters from King County Fire District 44, Maple Valley and Kent were able to keep the flames from spreading to other structures on the property and had the fire extinguished quickly. A pony in an adjacent barn was rescued by the property owners, though a travel trailer in the barn was destroyed.

No one was injured in the fire.
