CHILD ABUSE

• Child abuse was reported at 1:55 p.m. on Feb. 6 at Mattson Middle School, 16400 SE 251st St. A school official told police that a father came to school and hit his son in the head with a belt for being caught under the influence of alcohol. The official stated the alleged victim and his younger brother were placed into protective custody.

• Police received a potential child abuse report at 1 p.m. on Feb. 2. A Covington Elementary School teacher reported that a 7-year-old boy stated he was afraid to have the teacher call home because he would “get hit.” Another child abuse report came out of Covington Elementary School at 8 a.m. on Feb. 3. Police said a female student told her teacher that her father would be getting out of jail and “she is afraid of what he will do to her when he comes home.”

CITIZEN ASSIST

• A citizen assist request was reported at 11:34 a.m. on Feb. 2. Police said a female homeowner was locked out of her house on the 26900 block of 196th Avenue Southeast while her 1-year-old child was inside the home on a counter playing with a knife.

THREATS

• Threats were reported at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 4. Police said a Cedar Heights Middle School, 19640 SE 272nd St., student threatened to kill another student.

• A phone threat of physical violence was reported at 5:05 p.m. on Feb. 2 by an individual living on the 21300 block of 252nd Place.

HARASSMENT

• Stalking/harassment through Facebook and in person was reported at 4:53 p.m. on Feb. 3 by an individual at MultiCare Maple Valley Clinic, 24080 SE Kent Kangley Road.

TRESPASSING

• Trespassing was reported at 2:18 p.m. on Feb. 6 at Glora’s Restaurant, 23220 Maple Valley-Black Diamond Road SE.

• Trespassing and controlled substance arrests were reported at 12:02 p.m. on Feb. 5 at McDonalds, 17431 SE 272nd St.

• Trespassing was reported at 3:04 p.m. on Feb. 4 on the 23700 block of Southeast 272nd Street.

FRAUD

• Check forgery related to mail theft was reported at 8:55 p.m. on Feb. 4 on the 15600 block of Southeast 254th Place.

VANDALISM

• Vandalism to a sliding glass door was reported at 9:58 p.m. on Feb. 6 on the 26800 block of 188th Avenue Southeast.

• Vandalism to a vehicle was reported at 8:20 p.m. on Feb. 6 outside of Covington KinderCare, 27050 174th Place SE.
