Covington/Maple Valley Police blotter for week of Oct. 4-9

COVINGTON

Oct. 3

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: 26100 block of 168th Place Southeast. A driver parked his car in an isolated area. When approached by an officer it was discovered he had marijuana and pipes on him.

Oct. 1

THEFT: 16700 block of Southeast 272nd Street. Someone stole a customer’s wallet from her shopping cart while she was shopping at Fred Meyer.

Sept. 30

BURGLARY: 19400 block of Southeast 265th Street. Someone entered a residence through an unlocked window and stole electronics.

SHOPLIFTERS: 20700 block of 108th Avenue Southeast. A trio of suspects stole beer and soda from the Circle K convenience store and then threw soda at an employee when he confronted them.

Sept. 29

CAN’T STAY AWAY: 16800 block of Southeast 264th Street. A man violated a no-contact order served on behalf of his wife. The couple is divorcing.

Sept. 28

THEFT: 27200 block of 172nd Avenue Southeast. A woman’s purse was stolen from a secured locker at LA Fitness.

ASSAULT: 20000 block of Southeast 266th Street. A man struck his wife with a backpack, injuring her nose.

DINE AND DASH: 17000 block of Southeast 272nd Street. A man and woman, both described as in their 20s, along with a woman in her 50s, ordered and ate food at Applebee’s then left without paying.

MAPLE VALLEY

Oct. 3

RAPE: 21600 block of Southeast 270th Street. Someone entered the victim’s room and forced the victim to have sex with him. The victim did not know the suspect.

Oct. 2

CHECK FRAUD: 27000 block of 232nd Avenue Southeast. A roommate stole a check from another resident of the house and forged the victim’s signature.

TWO FOR ONE: 21300 block of Southeast 265th Place. A woman reported that someone broke into her car and stole two laptops, one of which belonged to her boyfriend’s business, but neither had sensitive information on them.

Oct. 1

INAPPROPRIATE RELATIONSHIP: 21900 block of Southeast 239th Street. An administrator at Tahoma Junior High learned that a female student might be having a sexual relationship with an adult male and reported it to the authorities.

GRAFFITI: 21300 block of Southeast 280th Street. Someone painted a swastika on a table at the community park in the Eastwood Forest neighborhood.

Sept. 26

DRUNK IN PUBLIC: 23200 block of State Route 169. An intoxicated customer at Gloria’s was punched in the face.

UNDERAGE DRINKING: 23700 block of 225th Way Southeast. A suspicious vehicle was stopped. The officer cited the driver with driving under the influence as well as minor in possession. In addition, eight passengers were arrested as MIP, with one of them also having a warrant from Maple Valley Police.
