Operation S.A.F.E. Student is a proactive and educational approach to keep students safe when exiting and entering school buses.
In May the WSP, Maple Valley Police Department and Tahoma School District, in conjunction with Operation S.A.F.E. Student, sponsored a drawing contest. The contest involved third and fourth graders from Tahoma School District in a theme related to school bus safety and distracted driving. Along with a new laptop, the winning student had their artwork displayed on a billboard.
