The King County Road Services Division has scheduled an open house to discuss its plans to build a consolidated road maintenance facility in southeast King County near Ravensdale.

The open house will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17 at the Black Diamond Community Center, 31605 Third Ave.

According to a county press release planning for the project is just beginning. The proposed facility would include a new headquarters building, vehicle and equipment shops and other features that support road maintenance operations. It would replace two aging facilities in Maple Valley and Black Diamond.

The proposed facility is needed to ensure that area roads continue to receive critical repairs, snow and ice removal, storm and flood response and other vital services well into the future.

During the open house, there will be information about the project and schedule. The public is invited to stop by and ask questions, and find out how to provide input and stay informed.
