New dock at Lake Wilderness Park expected to be complete by the fishing derby

Manufacturing of the new concrete floats for the Lake Wilderness Park dock is now complete

Manufacturing of the new concrete floats for the Lake Wilderness Park dock is now complete. The contractor is expected to remobilize and begin on-site work the week of April 6. Periodic closures of the boat launch will occur from April 6 to 17 as trucks will be delivering the floats, which weigh up to 6,000 pounds each, and unloading them at the boat launch and then floating them over to the swim beach area where they will be installed.

Once the floats are in place the new steel pilings will be installed. On-shore work will include constructing an ADA accessible path from the parking lot to the dock.

The project is expected to be complete in late April 2015 in time for the 13th annual “Hooked on Fishing” fishing derby.
