Families gathered in the Glacier Valley neighborhood in Maple Valley to celebrate the National Night Out, an annual event designed to bring neighbors together in an effort to send a message to criminals they are organized and watchful.

Maple Valley Police and Maple Valley Fire visited neighborhoods in city throughout the evening. National Night Out wrapped up the celebration at Glacier Valley Community Park with a bouncy toy, a peek into an ambulance, filling out identification forms for children, a barbecue and a visit from Guardian One, King County Sheriff’s Office search and rescue helicopter. Youngsters had an opportunity to sit in the helicopter, meet deputies and have their photos taken.
