National Night Out, a drug and crime prevention event, was held in Maple Valley, Covington and Black Diamond Tuesday Aug. 2.

The events included block parties, visits by local police officers and fire-fighters.

National Night Out is a nationally-held event designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in local anti-crime efforts as well as strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships.
