MV recruiting library board and economic committee members

The city of Maple Valley is recruiting new members for its Economic Development Committee, which advises the City Council on activities aimed at furthering economic within the city, and its Library Advisory Board:

The city of Maple Valley is recruiting new members for its Economic Development Committee, which advises the City Council on activities aimed at furthering economic within the city, and its Library Advisory Board:

Applicants are wanted for three positions on the committee whose terms are scheduled to expire in December, plus two alternate members.

The EDC has seven voting members, two alternates and two ex-officio members who assisst with programs and objectives approved by the council. The committee meets on Mondays at 3 p.m. twice a month at Lake Wilderness Lodge.

Members are appointed to two-year terms.

Members to serve three-year terms beginning next January and running through December 2011 are being sought for the board that advises the City Council on library matters and works with the King County Library System’s Board of Trustees.

The five-member city board makes recommendations regarding library services and facilities, plus input in the county board’s budget hearings.

Appointments to the city board aremade by the mayor and require confirmation by the council.
