Tahoma National Cemetery presents a Memorial Day ceremony at 1 p.m. Monday, May 25 at the cemetery’s main flag pole assembly area, 18600 SE 240th St., Kent.

The cemetery is a commemorative partner with the Department of Defense for the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. Vietnam War era veterans are invited to attend.

The Air & Flight Museum will provide a B-25 flyover during the ceremony.

Former First Gentleman Mike Gregoire is keynote speaker. As a graduate of Army Officers Candidate School, he served as platoon leader and convoy commander with the Delta Express in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta. A Washington native, Gregoire graduated from Everett High School and the University of Washington.

Guest speaker is state Sen. Joe Fain, R-Auburn, of the Legislative 47th District. The Senator was elected in 2001 and is the senate majority floor Leader.

A large crowd is expected to honor the veterans. Parking space is limited in the cemetery. Visitors should plan on walking to and from their parking spot to the ceremony. Parking is available for disabled passengers and drivers with a shuttle to and from the ceremony assembly area.
