May 13 deadline approaches for Covington scholarship opportunities

Scholarships are available for high school seniors and adult learners.

Covington Rotary is offering six scholarships at three levels that will support education plans for graduating seniors and adult learners over 24 years in the Covington community. The application deadline for 2013-14 scholarships from the Rotary Club of Covington is May 13. Scholarships are available for students with a GPA from 2.0 to 3.85.

The Making Scholarship Program offers two scholarships of $2,000 each for seniors in the Kent School District service areas for Kentlake or Kentwood as well as home school and private school students that are planning to attend a college or university during 2013-14. This scholarship requires a GPA between 3.2 and 3.85 and additional requirements.

The Vocational Scholarship Program offers two scholarships of $1,000 for students in each area planning to attend a vocational school during 2013-14. This scholarship requires a GPA of 2.0 or higher and additional requirements
