Marijuana found by K9, man tells officer he forgot about it | Black Diamond Police Blotter

MARIJUANA: At 4 p.m. an officer ran a plate on a vehicle and the registered owner was shown to have a suspended license in the second degree. The officer noticed a strong odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle. The driver admitted to smoking with other occupants in the vehicle. The man stated he was not the owner of the vehicle, and had a suspended license in the third degree. The other occupant admitted to having marijuana and turned it over to the officer. K9 searched the vehicle and more marijuana was found which the driver admitted to being his and forgot that he had it. The driver was cited for driving while license suspended in third degree and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The passenger was cited with possession of marijuana.

April 23

DOMESTIC ASSAULT: 31100 block of 3rd Avenue. At approximately 5:30 a.m. officers were dispatched to a report of a domestic assault. Upon arrival, officers found a vehicle parked in the middle of the road unoccupied. A female walked outside extremely upset and told officers that her husband had assaulted her and took the phone to prevent her from calling 911. She was able to get away and ran out of the residence and got in her car. He ran out after her and jumped on the hood preventing her from leaving. She started driving, but he still refused to get off the vehicle ripping off the windshield wipers. She finally stopped and went in to a neighbor’s home. The male was arrested for fourth degree assault domestic violence, interfering with reporting domestic violence and malicious mischief third degree. He was booked into Buckley jail.

CAR PROWL: Sunny Lane. A person came out to their vehicle in the morning to find their car door ajar. Sometime throughout the night, someone entered their vehicle and several items were removed from the glove box and console.

April 18

THEFT: Sunny Lane. A citizen reported a theft from two vehicles parked in his drive sometime throughout the previous night. No point of entry damage was located on either vehicle. Total value of items stolen from the vehicles totaled $2400.
