The Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra will be presenting “A Gift Best Shared,” a concert featuring holiday music. This special and festive concert will be held Friday, Dec. 13 at Maple Valley Presbyterian Church at 7 p.m.
Part of the mission of the MVYSO is to help students connect with one another using music as the uniting factor. This season, they have expanded their program to include Jam Club, a music therapy based music education program designed especially for special needs students.
“It is pure joy to meet with these students each week,” said Elisa Lewis, MVYSO Executive Director. “They are learning both social and musical skills necessary to make music as a group. It has been exciting to watch them grow in these areas.”
The Jam Club will be making their debut performance as they play along with MVYSO’s Symphony Orchestra on one very special holiday favorite. Also featured in the evening’s performance are MVYSO’s Jr. Symphony and small ensembles.
The youth symphony invites you to share their gift of music on Dec. 13. This concert is for donation only with donations accepted at the door. For more information about this concert or MVYSO programs, please visit www.mvyso.org or call 425-433-6009.
